“For all the colours - this comes out so well in mono because of the contrasts..the light is beautiful. You must have been on the top to get this view. Im not that brave.”

“Fantastic! Very well seen and blended...really like the effects especially the floating water level and the edge of the trees in the sky. At first, I wasnt sure about that, but I think it makes the image more abstract and I do like it.Great set of images.”

“1/3200s, aperture at the sweet spot for the lens (about f/5.6) and ISO set to keep the detail in the highlights. The sky helps make the shot; if I'd have blown that then it's nowhere near as strong. Also shooting in small bursts (2/3 shots) helps.”

“Thanks Julie. The bird is probably about 3 to 4 years old; by about 5 the plumage is almost entirely white across the wings. The juveniles are much darker and don't have the yellow around the head. If I were entering it into a non-nature competition I'd lose the highlight - it's judge bait - but I honestly don't mind it...”
