We visited Berwick Fire Station on Thursday evening, to photograph their training session.
The fire fighters gave us a very warm welcome, and gave us access to the equipment and even to operate the hoses. It felt like a real priviledge to be able to see how they operate and prepare for all eventualities, including the difficulties of attending on a tidal island.
The cold, dark and rain gave a certain atmosphere, and challenges, but didnt dampen our spirits.
We are very grateful for this opportunity, and came away with huge respect for our fire fighters.
